The Kocher Intestinal clamp is used to grip the bowel tissue firmly but gently, with minimal trauma, with its longitudinal, evenly serrated jaws. The surgeon holds the clamp in his dominant hand, isolates the bleeder, and applies the clamp at right angles to the blood supply to occlude it and achieve homeostasis during complex bowel surgeries including, resection of Carcinoma of the colon, Colectomy for diverticular disease, gastrojejunal anastomosis, and gastric bypass surgery.
