- The Alm Wound Spreader is a self-retaining retractor that is used to widen wound edges by a screw mechanism. It consists of a U-shaped assembly, with a horizontal bar and two vertical bars. Turning the screw lock diverges the vertical bars apart. Each vertical bar features four sharp prongs on its outer end.
