Mead Periosteal Raspatory / Elevator is a very reliable instrument used by orthopedic surgeons to dissect or separate hard tissue like periosteum from bone prior to reduction and fixation of fractures. It is also used to retract tissue in confined spaces. Mead Periosteal Raspatory features a cylindrical handle with serrations in a criss-cross pattern ensuring a firm hand-grip. The handle extends to an oval flattened smooth tip at one end and a flattened sharp tip at the other end.
